Job description & requirements

AIMRRA is seeking skilled and detail-oriented HEDIS Nurses (RN/LPN/LVN) for seasonal contract positions with our premier healthcare clients. The Healthcare Effectiveness Data and Information Set (HEDIS) season is critical for our clients' quality measurement and accreditation efforts. We are looking for dedicated professionals to join our team and contribute to accurate, compliant data abstraction. 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Medical Record Review and Abstraction: Review and abstract clinical data elements from paper and electronic medical records (EMR/EHR) to ensure compliance with NCQA HEDIS Technical specifications. 

  • Data Entry and Quality: Accurately document abstraction findings into the HEDIS electronic database tool, striving for a high level of abstraction accuracy (typically 95% or higher). 

  • Audit Participation: Participate in internal and external audits as required to meet all accreditation and regulatory requirements. 

  • Compliance: Maintain strict adherence to HIPAA guidelines and all organizational policies regarding confidential patient information. 

  • Collaboration: Work closely with the client's Quality Improvement and HEDIS teams, and effectively communicate any patterns of missing documentation or complex issues. 

  • Production Goals: Meet or exceed daily production and quality goals for medical record reviews and abstraction. 

Qualifications and Requirements 

  • Licensure: Active and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN), Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), or Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) license. 

  • Experience: 

  • Minimum of one year of recent HEDIS season experience is highly preferred. 

  • Prior experience in medical record review/abstraction (vendor or health plan setting). 

  • Knowledge: Strong understanding of HEDIS measures and medical terminology, coding, and guidelines. 

Skills: 

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail. 

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word and Excel). 

  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to meet tight deadlines.
